Discrimination
EWU employees and students are prohibited from discriminating against others on the basis of their protected status. Discrimination is defined as adverse treatment of another person on the basis of their protected status.
Discriminatory Harassment
EWU also prohibits both employees and students from engaging in discriminatory harassment. Discriminatory harassment is defined as conduct by any means directed at another person that: (a) denigrates or shows hostility toward an individual because of their protected status; (b) is subjectively and objectively offensive; and (c) is sufficiently severe or pervasive as to unreasonably interfere with an individual’s academic or work performance, or ability to participate in or benefit from the university’s programs and activities.
