Why is the term “university services” replacing “support functions” for Eastern’s SRA process?

Per the request of the Faculty Senate leadership for the change in terminology of “support functions” to “university services,” the Co-Champions conferred with the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) and implemented the naming convention on February 6, 2023. All knowledge base articles were updated to reflect the new terminology at that time, and “university services” will be used moving forward. Historical documents, such as presentations, forms, messages, etc., will retain the original terminology of “support functions.”
