Thanks to the EWU at Bellevue College campus, students don’t have to relocate or change their lifestyle in order to obtain a baccalaureate degree. We offer a low student-faculty ratio, creating an enriching learning environment.

Evening Based Undergraduate
The Department of Psychology offers a degree at the Bachelor of Arts level on the Bellevue College campus. Our undergraduate program is designed to cover the essential areas of contemporary psychology and offer opportunities for focused and specialized learning. Undergraduate students have the opportunity to be actively involved with current research and internship experiences in the community. Among the core courses offered are: Theories of Personality, Abnormal Psychology, Foundations of Psychotherapy, Scientific Principles of Psychology, and Introductory Statistics. A psychology minor is also available to all students pursuing other majors.
In the Health Psychology Bachelor of Science Program, you’ll gain an understanding of the ways that psychological, behavioral, and cultural factors relate to physical health. You’ll learn about stress, human development, behavior, cognition and more. You’ll also explore how patients interact with healthcare providers and the healthcare system in general. You’ll choose from electives that cover topics such as sexuality, interpersonal communication, drugs and behavior, and research methods.
Key Opportunities include field study at medical agencies and active preparation for work in the healthcare system and graduate programs in health fields such as Health Psychology and Public Health.
Interdisciplinary Option
The Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies is intended for students who would like to study across more than one discipline. If you are interested in this option, please contact the Interdisciplinary Studies director and your advisor.
Do you have more than five years of professional working experience? Looking to complete a bachelor’s degree? The Bachelor of Arts degree with Experiential Learning is designed for you.
Eastern’s program is based on the philosophy that adult learners have acquired university-level learning through their career experience. Experiential Learning participants are awarded elective credits by articulating and illustrating their experiences in a portfolio that is evaluated by EWU faculty. Portfolios are prepared during enrollment in the ITDS 300 Portfolio Development course.
The Bachelor of Science program in Interdisciplinary Studies – Workforce Management is for adults with professional experience.
It offers educational training to support workplace development and advancement. You can earn elective credits for your prior learning and apprenticeship experience by developing a portfolio. Faculty members review portfolios and determine the credit award, with a maximum of 60 elective credits. There is a fee for portfolio assessment, so contact the Interdisciplinary Studies Program for current information.
Are you interested in the humanities, sciences and social sciences? The Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies: Liberal Arts option is for you. In this program, you’ll have the opportunity to take courses from each area. You’ll also develop the research and critical thinking skills needed for a variety of careers and graduate programs.
Widen your horizons with the Bachelor of Art degree with a focus on Africana Studies. This program gives you an intellectual arena in which you’ll learn to critically examine, analyze and interpret the experiences, traditions, and dynamics of people of African descent. Proficiency in this field is conducive for graduate study in law, social work, political science, education, psychology, sociology, and anthropology as well as careers in social services, academia, criminal justice, all levels of education, administration, human resources, business, health care, and politics.

The bachelor of science program is for undergraduates who are interested in learning about how people grow and change throughout their life course. You’ll get the chance to study child and adolescent development, adult development, adjustment, human relations, developmental theory, and research methodology. Students also take introductory courses in the field of counseling, complete a two-quarter field experience shadowing a psychologist, counselor, or another human service provider.
The Interdisciplinary Studies Program offers alternatives for students seeking degree programs which provide a broad background applicable to a variety of careers. Child Life and Health
The Child Life and Health option is designed for students pursuing certification in Child Life with the Association of Child Life Professionals and for those pursuing graduate work for future employment in medical fields working with children.
Child Services
The Child Services option is designed for students interested in pursuing work with children and/or families at the agency-level. The scope of applicable careers is vast—adoption agencies, district health and service agencies, court-appointed special advocates (CASA), program directors, agency support.

Addiction Studies is a multidisciplinary program that provides university-level education valuable for students in all disciplines, particularly those students interested in alcohol/drug prevention and treatment and careers in health, business and industry, criminal justice, and human services.

The Business Administration minor includes required courses in management, accounting and electives chosen from various fields of business administration.

The Communication Studies minor provides students with an introduction to concepts in communication and the social sciences. We accept up to 50 percent of your course work as transfer credits from speech and/or communication departments at other colleges.
Disability Studies is a rich inter-disciplinary field. Students who pursue the 25-credit minor will critically engage the place of disability and the value of disabled people within their home disciplines. This minor helps students build connections between theory and practice, emphasizing the history, culture, and contributions of people with disabilities. Students who complete the Disability Studies minor will be well suited to become leaders within their communities as well as change-makers in their fields.

This minor requires 15 credits selected from a list of options, which will provide exposure to a variety of topics related to developmental psychology.
Learn about how people grow and change throughout their life course. You’ll get the chance to study child and adlescent development, adult development, adjustment, human relations, developmental theory, and research methodology.
This program provides education and training in brief behavioral health interventions to address mild to moderate levels of mental health symptom severity. The required BHSS internship at community sites provides experience in delivery of brief behavioral interventions with clients/patients. BHSS positions may be found in healthcare and mental health clinic settings where they deliver interventions under supervision of licensed providers who can diagnose mental health conditions. Admission interview is required to declare the certificate to acknowledge program requirements and professional implications.
Topics addressed in this certificate program include:
- Commonly utilized collaborative and integrative care models
- Behavioral model of mental health symptom development and intervention
- Basic clinical skills, such as rapport building, redirecting, psychoeducation
- Evidence-based interventions for depression and anxiety symptom management, such as behavioral activation and relaxation training
This minor requires completion of PSYC 461 and PSYC 314, plus 10 credits selected from a list of options.
You’ll learn how to construct, use and understand psychological tests. You’ll also gain an understanding of psychological principles in the workplace. In addition, you will choose from electives that cover topics such as human resource management, organization theory, human behavior, social psychology and more.
The Psychology in the Workplace Certificate helps individuals grow in workplace settings and roles. You’ll learn how to apply psychological principles to the workplace.
Topics covered include employee selection, motivation, performance, behavior, occupational positions, and organizational dynamics.
Note: you can’t repeat more than 10 credits if you’re majoring in the School of Psychology. Only up to 10 credits from outside sources can count towards the certificate.
