Benefits of Participation in the School of Social Work and University Community
Students who participate in the MSWSA will benefit personally and professionally by being a part of an organization that plays a role in decisions about the operation and organization of the MSW program at Eastern.
Students can add participation in MSWSA to their resume and receive valuable information about the social work profession through our Brown Bag Lunch series.
Through participation in the MSWSA, students also have opportunities for networking and discussions with other students and social workers.
MSWSA members are eligible to run for office within the organization and are expected to participate in School committee meetings, such as the MSW Admissions Committee and the Department Faculty Committee. Participation in these meetings gives MSW students a way to advocate for student needs among faculty.
Students can also represent MSWSA at the university level on the University Clubs and Organizations meetings.
