Middle School MESA Camp at EWU
The purpose of this camp is to keep kids’ interest in STEM high so that more students, especially those who are underrepresented in STEM, enter STEM fields in college or their career.
2024 Camp Info
Where: Eastern Washington University Interdisciplinary Science Center (ISC)
When: August 8th and 9th
Who: Kids who have participated in a MESA program at their middle school and completed 6th grade, or who are just interested in learning more about science on a college campus. Campers should be in 7th, 8th, or 9th grade in the 2024-2025 school year.
Cost: Free, but space is limited.
What activities are in this camp?
The camp will consist of hands-on activities from a variety of STEM disciplines including chemistry, biology, math, and engineering. Many of the activities will result in a product that participants will get to keep and remember their experience at camp.
Are there risks?
The risks in participating in camp activities are minimal. The sessions that carry the most risk are a tie-dye activity in which participants’ clothes might get stained and an activity in which participants will have the option of consuming a product that contains dairy products (ice cream).
I signed up, but the camp is out-of-stock.
Space in the camp is limited, but we are keeping a waiting list and will let you know if a space becomes available.
Who do I contact with questions or to get on the waiting list?
