Rosa Espinosa Zuniga presented “Gratitude, Spirituality, and Religiosity as predictors of psychological well-being in Latinx Aging Population” with the mentorship of Dr. Phillip Watkins and Dr. Theresa Martin at the Baylor McNair Conference and Graduate School Fair in Waco, TX.
Darlene Gilroy presented, “Chemical Weathering of Deposits from the 1980 Mount St. Helens Eruption and its Effect on Stream Water Chemistry” in collaboration with Dr. Carmen Nezat 2019 at the Murdock College Science Research Conference in Tacoma WA and the 2020 WE-STEM conference at EWU.
Theresa Lee presented, “Prisoner Reentry: College Perceptions of Reentry Barriers in a Northwest Community” with the mentorship of Dr. Lindsey Upton at American Society of Criminology (ASC).
Abdulrazik Mohamed presented, “Sudanese in Diaspora: Perceptions on the conflict in Darfur” at the 2019 Black Doctoral Network Conference in Newark, New Jersey, and at the 8th Annual Women in Genocide Symposium: The Case of Darfur; he completed his research with the mentorship of Dr. Dorothy Zeisler-Vralsted.
Marcos Monteiro, along with former EWU McNair Scholar Laurisa Ankley, McNair Faculty Mentor Dr. Andrea Castillo, fellow student Katherine Camp, and Dr. Robin O’Quinn, published their article “Manuka honey chelates iron and impacts iron regulation in key bacterial pathogens” in the Journal of Applied Microbiology.
