Visit the Math Tasks page to find tasks that elicit specific SMP.<\/p>\n<p>The chapter below from Annual Perspectives in Mathematics Education by Janet Frost and Jackie Coomes describes how students&#8217; proficiencies in using the mathematical practices can be supported and improved while solving a task.<\/p>\n<p style=\"padding-left: 30px\"><strong>Frost, J.H., &amp; Coomes, J (2014). Each poster describes the 8 SMP in student-friendly language, in the same words, but the posters have different pictures. A PLC could use these tasks to discuss the same ideas.
