Self-enroll in a course that walks you through Canvas course accessibility topics like remediating PDF files in Adobe Acrobat, remediating Word documents, remediating PowerPoint presentations, and working with closed captions in Panopto.
Ally Accessibility Report
Ally automatically checks Canvas courses for accessibility and provides alternative formats for course materials. Ally is accessed in your Canvas course via the Ally course menu item.
Microsoft Accessibility
The Microsoft Office set of applications includes an Accessibility checker that reviews and advises how to remediate your documents for accessibility compliance.
PopeTech
PopeTech is Eastern’s web accessibility checking tool. Work with your departmental web admin or Contact Us for more information.
W3C Accessibility
The World Wide Web Consortium (W3C) defines the standards for web accessibility. WCAG 2.1 are the current set of Web Content Accessibility Guidelines. Our accessibility checkers (Ally and PopeTech) use these standards when reviewing course and site content.
