Cheney Outreach Program’s “Back-to School Program” Backpack<\/strong><\/p>\n

The Back-To-School Program distributes backpacks filled with necessary school
\nsupplies to help families in need, to allow students to return ready to learn and succeed.
\nThrough donations from our great staff, faculty, and students, this was a great
\nopportunity for us all to do something to help children in our area.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Feed the Needs<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

During EWU Food Drive’s 3rd Annual Feed the Needs <\/em>campaign, students donated
\nleftover meal counts to help benefit the Cheney Food Bank and other local hunger effort
\nrelief efforts.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Spring Cleaning Drive<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

At the end of Spring quarter of 2016, donated items from the dorms (when the
\nstudents left for the summer) were sorted by volunteers. Once the items were washed
\nand sorted, they were sold at our Summer Sale. All items not sold at the following event
\nwere then donated to Cheney School District Clothing\/Food Pantries as well as local
\nhomeless\/transitional living shelter.<\/p>\n

Summer Sale<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n

On 13th of August this year, a summer sale was held by the EWU Community FoodDrive
\nthanks to the generous donations from the EWU Residence Halls. The household items,
\nclothing, bedding, and other miscellaneous items were then sold and the proceeds given
\nto Communities in Schools, Cheney Food Bank, and Cheney Outreach Center.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
