New Faculty Workshop 4: Transparent Teaching
February 23, 2018 @ 11:00 am - 1:00 pm
Please join us at the Faculty Commons, or via Zoom, for the fourth New Faculty Workshop: Transparent Teaching, facilitated by and Dr. Justin Young, Associate Professor and Director of English Composition Program & Writers’ Center and Dr. Liya Deng, Assistant Professor, Library.
This workshop will focus on designing clearer, more equitable assignments for your students. To this end, please bring hard copies of an assignment you have used or will use in one of your classes, along with a laptop, if possible. You will have a chance to begin revising this assignment during the workshop according to the principles of Transparent Teaching. Participants will develop objectives- and outcomes-based assignments that clearly articulate for students the necessary knowledge, skills, and tasks associated with course success.
