GPAC
February 14, 2020 @ 12:00 pm - 1:00 pm
The Global Programs Academic Council (GPAC) was established to provide faculty a voice in developing, maintaining, and assessing the global and international studies curriculum of the university, enhancing international opportunities for study and research by students and faculty, and supporting and encouraging a more global and international campus environment. As part of this mission, GPAC is currently writing guidelines for the faculty in leading short-term study abroad programs. One of the main issues GPAC has encountered thus far is that, while many faculty members would like to lead study-abroad trips, there is no formal document detailing on how to pursue such a trip. This is what our guideline will address, and what we are hoping to hear feedback from all of you. Thus the purpose of the brown-bag discussion is to discuss the benefits of leading such a trip, discuss the steps required to lead a trip, and to solicit feedback from the faculty at large on these guidelines.
