EWU provides drinking water from two drilled wells that both come from a groundwater aquifer.

We are pleased to report that our water meets or exceeds all standards set for quality and safety. We are committed to providing you with safe, high quality water, and we want you to understand the efforts we make to continually protect our water resources.

This shop is responsible for building repairs and maintenance, including roofing, windows, doors, hardware, cabinets, walls, ceilings, and flooring.  This shop is also involved in minor building alterations and modifications, assembly of systems furniture, and fabrication of minor custom casework and cabinetry.

This shop is responsible for the repair and maintenance of the electrical system on campus, including high voltage, fire alarms, elevators and lighting.

This shop is responsible for the repair, maintenance and operation of heating and cooling system controls on campus.

This shop is responsible for centralized production of steam and chilled water for use in heating and cooling campus buildings.  This shop also manages evening and weekend dispatching of emergency maintenance and repair.

This shop is responsible for repairs and maintenance of the university’s residence halls, apartments, and townhomes.

This shop is responsible for the repair and maintenance of the heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration systems on campus.

This shop is responsible for the fabrication, repair and maintenance of metal specialty items including handrails, metal stairs, kitchen equipment and sports equipment on campus.

This shop is responsible for the repair and maintenance of all interior and exterior coatings, including paints and sealants, on campus.  This shop is also responsible for production, maintenance and repair of interior and exterior signage on campus.


About Facilities Maintenance

The Facilities Maintenance (FM) organization repairs, maintains and operates the University’s physical plant on campus in Cheney WA.  Facilities Maintenance is comprised of the following departments: Access Control, Water and Plumbing, Heating Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC), Painting and Signage, Insulation and Haz Mat Abatement, Housing Maintenance, Metals Fabrication, Energy Management, Electricity and Lighting, and Building Maintenance.
