Mission Statement
The Eastern Washington University Environmental Health & Safety Office strives to ensure a safe and healthy environment for all students, faculty, staff and visitors, and to protect the environmental integrity of the campus and surroundings.
Goals
- Provide and maintain an environment free from recognized hazards and minimize potential loss of university resources and damage to human life, health, and the environment.
- Ensure compliance of all federal, state and local standards, laws, statutes and regulations related to health, safety and environmental protection.
- Continually improve programs and information designed to protect EWU community members.
- Enlist all campus community members as safety team members.

The EH&S offices are located in the Martin Hall annex

Waste Transfer Facility location
Hazardous and universal waste can be placed outside the EH&S Waste Transfer Facility.
The Waste Transfer Facility is located near Central Stores.
Waste Transfer Facility
Chemicals can be placed in the cabinet to the right of the white roll-up door.
Sharps or biowaste can be placed in the biohazard can to the left of the roll-up door.
Batteries can be placed next to the biohazard can.
Lights and ballasts can be placed in the shed on the left of the building.
