Login is required with an EWU SSO.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Justification<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The submitter is expected to provide a justification for the new course. In preparing this, consider the following questions:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Is this course part of an existing or proposed program?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Is this course an elective?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If so, is it for more than one program?<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Was this course an experimental course for 3 terms?<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Form Expectations<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Prior to inputting a CIM course submission, review the&nbsp;information expected for each form field&nbsp;and prepare any additional materials that may be needed. Review the <strong>Information Bubble<\/strong> located on the form for additional information for the form item.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"propose-course\">Proposing a New Course<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>When proposing a new course, review the <a href=\"https:\/\/test-inside.ewu.edu\/cpac\/course-description\/\">Course Description<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/test-inside.ewu.edu\/cpac\/prerequisite-recommendations\/\">Prerequisite Recommendations<\/a>, <a href=\"https:\/\/test-inside.ewu.edu\/cpac\/modes-of-instruction\/\">Modes of Instruction<\/a>, and <a href=\"https:\/\/test-inside.ewu.edu\/cpac\/credit-hour-definitions\/#courserepeatcodes\">Course Repeat Codes<\/a> resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Click&nbsp;<strong>Propose New Course<\/strong>. A New Course Proposal form will open in a new window.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Complete all areas where the boxes are outlined in red. <\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>There are three options for saving changes:\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Save &amp; Submit<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 saves the changes and submits the proposal for review, starting the workflow.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Save Changes<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 saves the changes without submitting.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Cancel<\/strong>&nbsp;\u2013 discards the changes.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>If the new course is a requirement in a program, add the course to the program and submit the program into the approval workflow.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"after-submission\">After Submission<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Each approver in the workflow is notified that a task in CIM is waiting for their review. <strong>It is the responsibility of the submitter to follow the proposal and ensure that the proposal progresses through the <a href=\"https:\/\/test-inside.ewu.edu\/cpac\/workflow\/\">approval workflow<\/a> in the established timeline.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>All departments and programs that are affected by the proposal are included in the CIM approval process. The CIM system flags any additional approvals needed and notifies departments impacted by the proposed change.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator has-alpha-channel-opacity\"\/>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"modifications\">Modifications<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>If modification is needed during the approval process, this can be handled by one of the following methods:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Rollback<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The proposal needs significant changes.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The person reviewing sends the document back to the initiator for changes and communicates with the initiator to clarify what changes are required. The proposal then moves forward following the full workflow approval process.&nbsp;<strong>It is the responsibility of the submitter to follow the proposal and ensure that the proposal progresses through the <a href=\"https:\/\/test-inside.ewu.edu\/cpac\/workflow\/\">approval workflow<\/a> in the established timeline.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Edit by Current Reviewer<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>For minor changes that are agreed upon by submitter\/department and reviewer.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>These might include a change in attached syllabus or minor edit to course description. However, it is not the reviewer or CPAC\u2019s responsibility to make changes to course or program proposals.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n<\/div><\/div><\/div>\n\n<div class=\"gb-grid-column gb-grid-column-9f4be1b4\"><div class=\"gb-container gb-container-9f4be1b4\"><div class=\"gb-inside-container\">\n<div class=\"gb-container gb-container-2368840a\"><div class=\"gb-inside-container\">\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Need Help?
