Handshake is EWU’s career development platform. With Handshake, you can:
  • Search and apply for jobs & internships
  • Make appointments with your Career Advisor
  • Find events like Career Fairs
  • Get personalized updates & career resources

If you are a current student and are registered for classes, an account has already been created for you.

  1. Go to ewu.joinhandshake.com and log in with your @ewu.edu email and SSO password.
  2. Complete your profile to personalize your experience and get better results. Add your most recent education (EWU) including your major, at least one extracurricular activity, at least one experience entry, and at least one skill. To get started with your profile, click on the drop down under your name and select “My Profile”.
  3. Start searching for jobs, internships, events, career advising appointments, and resources!
  4. Visit support.joinhandshake.com if you need further instruction.

Incoming Students

If you are an incoming student, and have not yet registered for classes, DO NOT create a new account. Your account will be available 1-2 business days after you register for classes. If you need access sooner, please contact us for assistance.

Virtual Appointments

Virtual appointments (Zoom, phone, email) are available. Make note of your preference in your Handshake appointment request when prompted.

If you have not created an account, you will need to do so.

  1. Go to ewu.joinhandshake.com
  2. Click Sign Up for An Account at the bottom of the page
  3. Click the Student/Alumni button.
  4. Fill in your personal information and create a password.  When asked to enter your email, you do not need to use your @ewu.edu email address.
  5. Please read Handshake’s Terms of Service and Privacy Policy and check the box to agree to the terms of service before you click Submit.
  6. Next, you should see a screen asking you to confirm your registration. To confirm your registration, click on the link that you received in your email. Tip: If you don’t find your confirmation email, please check your spam folder. To prevent future e-mails from being sent into your spam folder add handshake@notifications.joinhandshake.com to your contacts. If you still have difficulty please contact Handshake support at support@joinhandshake.com.
  7. Once you’ve confirmed your email address, you are registered as an alum and may now log in to complete your Handshake profile!

Note: If you only see Fairs and your profile on the left-hand navigation bar, contact us to be linked to EWU.
