Financial Services, under the leadership of the Chief Financial Officer, provides comprehensive fiscal leadership and service to the university community and constituents to ensure a secure and stable financial environment. A principal function is management of the university’s planning and budget processes with the CFO serving as an authoritative figure providing advice and counsel to the institution’s executive leadership. Other areas of responsibility within Financial Services include, payroll, accounts payable, treasury management, student accounts management and collection of receivables, debt issuance, and all internal and external reporting of financial information.
Meet the Team
Budget Services
Plans and oversees activities of the biennial/interim budget cycles for internal, external, and capital planning. Translates academic and administrative plans into budgets. Responsible for position management, support/training of unit budget managers, and the maintenance of budget schedules and process tools.
Office of Controller
Includes the departments of General Accounting, Travel, Payroll, Inventory Control, Accounts Payable, and Treasury and Debt Management. Provides financial information and reports, cash management, financial systems development, institutional fiscal policy and control, and guidance on state and federal regulations.
Student Financial Services
Assists families with making payments for tuition, refunding excess financial aid, setting up direct deposit, answering billing questions, facilitating third party reimbursements and guaranteed tuition plans.
Payroll Services
Provides payments to employees. Reports taxes, deductions and benefits to appropriate agencies.
General Accounting
Provides guidance in processing financial information and interpreting financial reports.
Travel Accounting
Provides timely travel advances and reimbursements to employees and conducts audits of travel documents.
Treasury & Debt Management
Provides day-to-day cash management services, long-term cash flow forecasting, debt service and portfolio management, and ensure compliance with all related policies, procedures and regulations.
Tax Compliance
Provides support and information for the campus community to identify and report tax issues which may affect the institution.
