Immunizations are important to the health and safety of our students and campus community. EWU has a requirement for the measles, mumps, and rubella (MMR) vaccine for students and employees.
If you are a student in a health science program, you must still submit your MMR vaccine record to Med+Proctor. However, you may have additional required vaccines and should check with your department on their procedure for submitting those records.
Please note: You do not need to pay $12 to submit your record, or $12 to expedite your record.
Additionally: EWU students if you have already created a Med+Proctor account with your XXX@eagles.ewu.edu email account in the past, please sign in with that account and do not create a new one with your XXX@ewu.edu email account. MMR immunity verification:
If you were born on or after January 1, 1957, proof of MMR immunity means you are able to provide documentation that shows:
- Students:
- Two doses of measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) vaccine received after one year of age and at least one month apart, or
- A blood test (titer) showing measles, mumps and rubella immunity, or
- Diagnosed measles, mumps and rubella disease (healthcare provider’s signature required).
- Staff:
- One dose of measles, mumps and rubella (MMR) vaccine received after one year of age , or
- A blood test (titer) showing measles, mumps and rubella immunity, or
- Diagnosed measles, mumps and rubella disease (healthcare provider’s signature required).

EWU has partnered with Med+Proctor to collect and verify proof of immunity.

Immunization records can only be accepted through Med+Proctor. Counseling & Wellness Services will not accept any documents, certificates or emails at this time.

Per EWU Policy all incoming students, as well as staff and faculty are required to submit proof of MMR immunity.
Measles, mumps and rubella are highly communicable diseases that can be mitigated by receiving two (2) doses of the MMR vaccine. The presence in our society of individuals who have not been immunized for measles, mumps and rubella creates a significant health risk. College populations remain susceptible to measles, mumps and rubella and these diseases continue to be associated with outbreaks in the general public and on college campuses. During the recent past, there have been numerous cases in Washington State and Spokane County, Washington. Confirmed outbreaks on a college campus can lead the Spokane Regional Health District to place a campus on exclusionary status.
In the event the Spokane Regional Health District determines there is a measles, mumps, or rubella outbreak on campus, university officials will notify those students and staff who have an approved waiver request of the outbreak. Students and staff with approved waiver requests will not be allowed on campus including, but not limited to: attending classes, working, participating in campus activities, or living in residence halls. Typically, an outbreak lasts for two to four weeks and students with an approved waiver will not be allowed on campus during an outbreak. Once the outbreak is no longer in effect, students and staff will be notified that they may return to campus.
What document(s) can I submit? ExpandWe accept any of the following documents as proof of measles, mumps, and rubella immunity:
- School Certificate of Immunizations, or
- Immunization records from your healthcare provider, public health department, or state immunization registry, or
- Copy of your child immunization card, or
- Copy of your military immunization record, or
- Signed proof of immunity form (located on the Med+Proctor site) from your healthcare provider.
If you are a current student, MultiCare Rockwood serves as our student health clinic and provides the MMR (measles, mumps & rubella) vaccine and/or a MMR titer blood test. There is no additional cost for the MMR immunization, and there is an $8.00 co-pay for the titer. Best practice is to receive a titer to determine immunity before revaccinating. Please call 509-235-6151 to make an appointment with your Student Health provider for either of these services.
If you are not a current student, you can receive the vaccine or a titer from your healthcare provider. Pharmacies are also able to provide the MMR vaccine. Please call your pharmacy about availability first.
Where can I get my immunization records? ExpandIf you received measles immunizations in the past but don’t have documentation, try contacting these sources to get a copy of your immunization record:
- The doctor where you received your immunizations
- Your high school
- The public health department responsible for the area where you received the vaccine
- Some states have immunization registries that are a central location for accessing immunization status. If you have received your vaccinations in:
- Washington State, you can check your immunization records online through Wa.MyIR.net
- Idaho, you can request your immunization records through Idaho Department of Health and Welfare
- Montana, you can request your immunization records through Montana Official State website
- Oregon, you can request your immunization records through Oregon Health Authority: Getting immunization records
International Students will have the same measles, mumps, and rubella proof of immunity requirement.
All documentation must be in English.

Current student means you are currently in classes and taking 6 or more credits.
Are you a Running Start Student? ExpandRunning Start students will need to submit verification of MMR immunity.
Are there exemptions to the requirement? ExpandIf you have a medical or religious reason to be exempt from this requirement, complete the Request for Waiver form found in the Med+Proctor system. Once waiver is completed, upload document to the Med+Proctor site.
If you are a student in a 100% online program and do not ever come to campus, you do not need to do anything.
If you submit a waiver form, and we have an outbreak of Measles, Mumps or Rubella on campus, you will be notified and will not be allowed on campus. This includes, but is not limited to: attending classes, participating in campus activities, or living in residence halls. You will continue to be responsible for paying tuition and housing costs during the time you are excluded from campus. An outbreak typically lasts for a minimum of two weeks and you will not be able to be on campus during that time period. Once the outbreak is no longer in effect, you will be notified that you will be able to return to campus.
